Floris Care Recruitment Ltd

FAQ For Candidates

What are the requirements to work with Floris Care Recruitment?

As a registered care recruitment agency, we follow certain legislation and processes when onboarding staff. We require staff to have at least six months UK-based care experience, along with experience in Moving and Handing. We must be able to validate that via reference checks. You will also be required to show proof of your right to work within the UK, along with any other employment checks we carry out. You can find out more about our screening process here.

Is there a minimum amount of shifts I need to work?

We don’t require you to take on a minimum number of shifts every month. Nor is there any pressure to take on work if you don’t want to. When working with Floris Care Recruitment, you can decide your own hours and even choose where you work. So whether you work regular hours or have a more flexible schedule is entirely up to you.

What is your hiring and registration process?

As part of our team, our carers are ambassadors for Floris Care Recruitment. So we are looking for like-minded individuals to join us in our goal to create excellence in care. You can find out more about our screening process here.

How much do you pay?

We believe that carers should be paid fairly and promptly. That’s why we are a Living Wage employer paying the real living wage. In fact, almost all of our hourly rates are higher (except our sleepover rate) with even higher rates for senior carers and nurses.

What should I wear during my shift, and is a uniform provided?

Support workers wear their own clothes and will not be provided with a uniform. Just make sure to wear casual clothing without anything offensive on it. Nurses will be provided with a tunic while care assistants working in a care home need to provide their own tunic.

How can I confirm that I have worked, and how do I log my hours?

You can access your timesheets via your Floris-portal where you can find all current and past timesheets. Every Monday, you should log in to the portal to sign these off and complete them. If there are any issues with your timesheets, please call the office and speak to your consultant.

What do I do if I want to work with a certain organisation or service user?

At Floris Care Recruitment, we are super passionate about not only finding the right carers for vulnerable individuals, but we also strive to find the right service for our carers – the job you do is hard, so you must enjoy it.  If you are looking to work exclusively with a certain service or individual, be sure to pick up the phone and call us – we would be more than happy to make it happen.  Continuity of care is the most important aspect of care, right?

What happens if I need to cancel a shift?

To cancel any shift, you MUST call the office as soon as possible. We do not accept cancellations via email or text message. For any out-of-hours cancellations, we still have our emergency call services available. Simply call either of our office numbers and you will be diverted to our emergency call service.

How do I request and take my holiday?

Holidays run from the 1st of Jan to the 31st of Dec each year. During this time, you will accrue holidays based on the shifts you work. If you are working full-time hours, this will roughly equate to 28 days per annum. To request and check how many holiday days you have, please consult with your consultant.

How does your 24/7 Support work?

At Floris Care Recruitment we have an experienced and dedicated care team who look after all your needs. Throughout the working week, your dedicated Care Consultant will contact you to check in and ensure all is ok – we call this “weekly wellbeing checks”. We are also available for you to contact us, to discuss any queries or concerns. We operate our on-call service which runs consistently out with office hours. We are available to take your call when the office is closed, to help with any situations or scenarios you find yourself in. We will run through all of this before you commence your employment.

How do I access the free health & social care training?

Training is provided free for our staff through our sister company Trust Training. Whether you want to brush up on your Moving & Handling skills or would like to learn something new, just let us know what you have in mind and we’ll book you on the next available course.
